CONCLUSION QUESTIONS
1. In as much detail as possible record the steps it took to create your Silent Film in Adobe Premiere Rush. Use complete sentences. Try to recall as many of the different tools and processes as possible.

-
To begin this project my group and I brainstormed possible ideas and envisioned what can work best. We wanted something out of the box and ultimately decided on a different setting
-
We then got started on a drawing out our story board, making sure to label what type of camera shots we wanted and scene placements.
-
Once we got a filming date figured out, we met up and got started on filming. We brought multiple cameras to get the angles and got each scene filmed. We made sure to really use strong expressions, hand motions, and accessories to share our emotions as it was a silent film.
-
After that, one group member got started on editing by transferring clips into Premiere Pro. With this software he merged clips, cropped any extra unneeded scenes out, and added sounds and effects that went along with our film.
-
The next step was the movie poster, we researched on google for ideas and took inspiration from "Home Alone" but added a twist. We used in class tools such as green screens, cameras, lights, and took atleast 5 photos each.
-
I then imported it into Adobe Photoshop and added a layer mask to get rid of the green screen on the images we selected to use. We had a color theme we wanted to use for the entire project so I went off that. I started with a brown backdrop and knew I wanted the main character as the main focus so I centered that image and added everything else around it. Using effects, lowering opacities, blend modes, and texts I was able to create the poster posted above and got approval from the group.
-
Finally, the last person was in charge of the Motion Graphic. She got started on Adobe After Effects and with the movie production name we chose she incorporated ideas from our last project a created a blooming flower trasition using anchor points. We helped out and found fonts on "DaFont" to stay with the "Cafe" theme.
-
We ended off with everybody adding any extra details on the final video and correctly completing and posting our videos on wix and google classroom.

2. What was the easiest part of the process of making a silent film? What was the most difficult part? How did you overcome it?

In my opinion the easiest part of making the silent film was creating the movie poster. I found this portion the easiest because since my team and I had already gone past the filming and storyboard phase, our ideas easily came together and kew exactly what colors, fonts, and icons we wanted to include. The part I found most difficult was creating the storyboard. I found this most difficult because we really wanted to be as detailed as possible with this step as it determined what shots we needed (EX: CLOSE UP, EYE LEVEL) and how everything was placed.
3. What was the experience of working with a group like? Did everyone carry their own weight and contribute equally to the production process? Why or why not?
Working with a group, especially on a multipart project like this, was very helpful and a great way for everyone to collaborate and share their ideas/criticism. I believe everyone in my team carried their own weight and contributed equally. We knew and had preassigned everyone to their own section which worked out fine and even helped one another out when needed. I found to enjoy working as a group that way we can share our ideas for the best outcome.
4. Based on the learning target, "Understand the component steps and skills required to design, edit, and produce a Silent Film by producing a storyboard, script, audio and video clips that use characterization, style, and related elements for specific aesthetic purposes ". What level of mastery does your project demonstrate (Exceeds, Meets, Needs Work, minimal understanding) Why do you think so? Make sure to provide specific evidence.

Based on the learning target, I believe our project best demonstrates an "Exceeds" level of mastery. I think this because from the start my group and I were very detailed and organized with our storyboard to save up any stress on filming. Doing so, when filming we went up and beyond to find a location outside from school to really get the "Cafe" setting and scenery we wanted and and executed. From details up to the font, emotions, and colors chosen for our movie poster we proved to show a 4.
